Do the Hustle

Posted by on Dec 14, 2017 in 10 Gods, Bazi & Wealth, Baziqueen Theories, Hurting Officer Star | 0 comments

Last week, I was doing a BaZi consult with a client trying to engage in some strategic career pivoting. The consultation was not going so easy because he had a number of other criteria that needed to be satisfied beyond purely deciding on what he should do next. He had come well prepared for the consult, having given me 4 different career options he had been prepared to consider, and also, indicators on what he wanted to be able to achieve in the next 10 years of his career (he’s 40.) We were discussing the options and how each of them...

Because nobody knows anything…

Early this year, I forecasted that Angela Merkel would have a difficult year in office, with a potential to lose her position. Frau Chancellor was facing a 丁酉 Hurting Officer see Direct Officer. If this time of birth is correct, she also had a Direct Officer Self Punishment. Her 10 year LP is 甲子 which indicates a Harm to her Direct Officer Star in the month (Water harms the Wealth Star, implying that her compassion, as represented by Indirect Resource, affects her ability to be pragmatic). So it was clear that Merkel was going to be punished...

New Video Class: The Art of the Annual Assessment

Most people learn BaZi in the hopes of saving a few bucks on a professional Annual Assessment. Some people learn BaZi in order to be able to engage in an Annual Assessment of the people around them – a strategic competitive advantage as it were. However, most students of BaZi are left to their own devices when it comes to figuring out how to perform an Annual Assessment. In truth, it takes time to figure out your own ‘style’ when it comes to doing an Annual Assessment. Each practitioner has their own views on what matters,...

Goodbye Guinea Pig…

Goodbye Guinea Pig…

One of the frequent pieces advice I give to BaZi students is GET A GUINEA PIG. Someone you can experiment on, test out your bazi knowledge and generally, figure out how BaZi works on a live wriggling example. Of course, you are your own best guinea pig but is helps also to have guinea pigs that are not you. In my original post (way back in 2009), I simply advocated people have guinea pigs to learn BaZi. However, with the advancement of my own practice, I have since moved on past mere guinea pigs. These days, I want Guinea Pigs in a Maze....

3 Eggs, 5 chickens…

The job of the BaZi consultant is to ask hard questions of the client. Not to let the client tell us what they want. But for us to tell them what can be done, within the parameters of what they want. Recently I was discussing a chart with someone and the topic entered around how to best determine when the person could sell their business. I took a look at the chart and I asked this question: why does this person want to sell their business? The chart was Bing Fire with strong Officer (bordering on strong 7K) and prominent Indirect Wealth, and...

Planning vs Counting Your Chickens before they Hatch…

A recent BaZi client sought advice on financial planning for the future. Her efforts were of course wise – she as nearing her 30s, had a good job that involved a technical skill, and had some goals she wanted to achieve in terms of her finances.  She knew she was coming up on a good wealth Luck Pillar and wanted to make sure that she didn’t waste that 10 years. So far, so good. The consultation was conducted via report so she came back with her questions and I also sent her some questions. That’s when things started to veer...

Money Never Sleeps…

It’s been a while since my last class, which was Annual Analysis 101, conducted in Kuala Lumpur. This year’s class has been a while in the offing because it has been difficult to find a topic that i’m very passionate about to spend 3 days talking non stop about it. The challenge is also to find a topic that will be interesting to students (both students and professionals alike) and which will not constitute rehashing of content or just new wine in old bottles. Time has also been a bit of an obstacle – the Annual...

How to train a Xin 辛 Metal

Note: I just realised that it’s been so long since I wrote one of these, I actually had to GO BACK and look at my original post “How to Train a Jia 甲 Wood” to remember, what these posts were actually about. Memo to self: gotta get back in the saddle again.  Important disclosure: I am a Xin. There is every possibility that this article is completely one sided. However, Xins know themselves best. So there must be more than a modicum of truth in this. So the thing to understand about the Xin Metal is…you do not train the...

Monkey or Rooster? Answer: Both.

Monkey or Rooster? Answer: Both.

So officially today, we Enter the Rooster. Or do we? I am not yet convinced that what we are seeing (especially in the USA under Trump) represents the Rooster. Rather, this is the vestiges of the Bing Shen finally showing its true colours (with some intermingling of the emerging Rooster). I have always taken the view that the transitionary period when energies change over is the time in which to observe matters closely. Thus the year end and the start of the year will often provide indicators as to which energies are dominant (i.e.: flagging...

Economic Forecast for 2016 – Monkey See, Monkey…?

So usually I write this at the same time as my annual forecast but hey, stuff happens and this sort of fell along the back burner. So at the risk of the usual hindsight is 20-20 comments, I’m publishing this anyway, six months late. (better late than never right). That being said, I am of the view that we are only NOW really going into the year of the Monkey, having experienced a very prolonged conversion of energies from the year of the Goat to the year of the Monkey. So this post, whilst late, is arguably not THAT late. The usual...
